Genshin Impact Tier List: the best and worst characters

If you’ve been playing since launch, you might have a good idea of how strong each of the characters are but if you’re new to the game, finding the perfect team can be really tough progamingsettings.net. That’s why I’m going to use this post to show you my favourite Genshin Impact characters.

Generation 3 shook up the weapon and artifact systems, making them vastly more flexible than before. Additionally, both weapon and artifact leveling systems were reworked; previously leveled weapons and artifacts will be of much less use in Generations 4. With a handful of new offensive skills, alongside the multitude of new characters and weapons, you’re going to want to find the best Genshin Impact team build you can.

We’re pleased to release the first ever Genshin Impact tier list. Acknowledging that tier lists are always a controversial subject, we’re hoping that this list will provide guidance to players who are starting out and looking to build their first team at endgame content. Future changes to the game may lead us to change our opinion on certain characters, but for now this is our ranking of characters in the game:

Diluc

Diluc is considered the best DPS character in Genshin Impact. He has many useful abilities, such as the elemental reaction, Gizellemental Reaction: Pyro. When he uses his Pyro skill, he will deal damage in an area. The skill can be used in battle if needed to damage multiple enemies. It has a 5 second cooldown and only requires 40 Energy to use when it is level 4. He also has another ability called Flame Burst that might increase his Energy and attack power by 15% for 10 seconds. It only requires 3 points to unlock this ability which means you can get it early in the game.

Keqing

Keqing is an Electro sword user who can teleport and pierce. Her elemental skill deals a high amount of damage and can hit multiple enemies at the same time. She also excels at melee, with her stats making her one of the best characters in the game in that regard. She has an incredible attack power and deals huge amounts of damage. Despite this, she has relatively low HP, but it’s still enough to let her kill most enemies before they can defeat her. Her full potential only comes out when paired with another friendly character.

Venti

Venti is a character that you need to learn to use effectively. He has the best advantage and disadvantage system in the game. Venti deals an insane amount of damage with his Stormeye and with the right combination of parts, he can launch enemies and himself at high velocity into the air. His disadvantage is that he has absolutely no way of recovering health and his only form of defense are his shells, which requires you to be good enough at aiming your off-hand shots so you don’t take huge amounts of damage.

HU TAO

At the start of this review, I have to say that I will not compare Hu Tao with Diluc simply because they aren’t the same character. They are both Genshin Impact 5 Star Characters respectively, but they use different strategies and have different abilities. I am going to focus solely on Hu Tao. However, regardless of this fact, there is no doubt that the character deserves four stars for his many strengths.

Bennett

Bennett fills the support role in most parties, providing the entire team with a damage boost, heals, and is capable of dealing damage when required. There’s a reason why Bennett has the highest pick rate of all characters in the hardest Spiral Abyss floors – he’s the perfect all-in-one character.
